My organization wants EVM reporting but we run Scrum. Story points don't map to dollars. Is there a way to make this work or should I push back?
Yes! Use 'Earned Schedule' — it maps story points to time-based EVM metrics. Count planned stories vs completed stories instead of dollars. Or use the simpler approach: track release-level burn-up charts with a budget line overlay. The key insight: EVM measures VALUE delivered vs PLAN, and that concept works regardless of methodology.
